The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations is inviting expressions of interest for the position of National Professional Officer (Safety and Security) in Gabon. This pivotal role is designed to enhance the safety and security framework within FAO’s operations, ensuring the protection of personnel and assets while fostering a secure working environment.​

Position Overview

As a National Professional Officer, you will be instrumental in assessing risks, developing safety protocols, and implementing security measures that align with FAO’s objectives. Your expertise will play a crucial role in safeguarding operations and supporting FAO’s global initiatives aimed at achieving food security and improved nutrition for all.​

Minimum Requirements

  • Nationality: Must be a national of Gabon.

  • Education:

    • An advanced university degree in risk or emergency management, social/political science, military science, public administration, law enforcement, law, or a related area, with at least one year of relevant professional experience in risk management and/or safety and security services within a national security and/or military setting;

    • OR a first-level university degree in the aforementioned fields, with a minimum of two years of relevant professional experience in risk management and/or safety and security services within a national security and/or military setting.United Nations Recruit

  • Language Proficiency:

    • Working knowledge (proficient – level C) of French;

    • Limited knowledge (intermediate – level B) of English.United Nations Recruit
